PROTECTING OURSELVES AND THOSE WE CARE ABOUT.

WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.

Our mission @ PrideMasks is simple:

Respond to COVID-19’s emerging Public Health needs in ways that are inclusive, thoughtful and science-driven.

Our goal: help address the shortage of NIOSH-certified clinical masks for health care workers-by creating a facial barrier for the general public and first responders.

We are committed to using the highest quality materials in PrideMasks (washable microfiber, 100% organic cotton backing, and latex-free elastic). Shortages in materials may cause fluctuations in pricing. Thank you for understanding.

Did You Know…

  • The average person touches their face approximately 23 times per hour. Of all face touches, nearly half involved contact with a mucus membrane (such as the nose, mouth or eyes). (1)

  • Much like the common cold, COVID-19 virus lingers on hands and surfaces for hours, making hand to mouth contact one of the most common and efficient modes of COVID-19 transmission. (2)

  • CDC recommends avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands to prevent the spread of COVID-19. (3)

Simply put, wearing a barrier like a PrideMask helps prevent face touching, and lowers the risk of bringing viruses and bacteria into your mouth, nose and eyes. This helps prevent you from becoming infected with communicable diseases such as the coronavirus (COVID-19), influenza, and the common cold.

Face barriers such as PrideMasks can also filter out pollutants and irritants that can trigger asthma, COPD, or bronchitis, which further weaken a person’s immune system and makes them more susceptible to infections like COVID-19.

PrideMasks are made locally in Chicago, are 100% washable, and can be dried in a household or commercial drier. They are made with a pocket to insert a filter, if needed. PrideMasks consulted with a CDC-trained Epidemiologist and Clinical Doctors to discuss need, design and fit for the appropriate barrier facial mask.

PLEASE NOTE:

PRIDEMASKS COME WITH ADJUSTABLE ELASTIC STRAPS

We want you to get the perfect fit. The elastic bands on PrideMasks are made long enough to accommodate any face size. We have loosely tied them so you can adjust the knot to your desired fit.

Step 1: Try on your PrideMask. If it’s too tight, or too loose, you can undo the knot and retie so it’s the perfect fit. If it fits out of the package, simply tighten the knots firmly.

Step 2 (Optional): Once tightened, the knot can be pulled through the PrideMask side seam, so it’s hidden-and not resting against the back of your ears.

Although PrideMasks do not need to be washed before first use, they are designed to be washed and reused.

All of our masks can be washed by hand or commercial washer. They can be dried in a commercial dryer (low setting), or a clinical autoclave. For easiest care, we recommend hand-washing with detergent for at least 30 seconds, rinsing, and hanging to dry. We use performance fabrics that include a microfiber outer layer, with an organic cotton interior lining (that includes a pocket for a filter). Our elastic is latex-free.

PrideMasks are not intended for use in clinical settings where sterility or air purification is needed. Only masks certified by NIOSH as an N95 respirator should be used in those settings.
